The mission of the Grafton County Department of Corrections is to provide care, custody, and control of pre-trial and sentenced inmates, as directed by the courts, while protecting the due process and constitutional rights of those persons entrusted into our care. Maintaining a secure facility, where the health and safety of staff, inmates, and the public are protected, is essential to our mission.
The Grafton County Department of Corrections will exercise frugal and responsible stewardship of the resources provided by the citizens of Grafton County and work cooperatively as partners with law enforcement agencies, the courts, and other criminal justice system entities, while we endeavor to reduce recidivism by providing meaningful educational and work opportunities to support life change.
The Grafton County DOC is excited to announce we are transitioning to a new inmate communications system. ****SCAM WARNING***
The Grafton County Department of Corrections has learned of a scam targeting families of incarcerated individuals in our region. In this scam, the caller claims to represent the local jail’s Community Corrections program and tells the victim their loved one qualifies for release on Electronic Monitoring, but the family member must pay a fee in advance.
The Grafton County DOC Community Corrections program communicates directly with eligible inmates about electronic monitoring. We will not contact family members to solicit payment. Fees paid by inmates for electronic monitoring are only made through the Access Corrections website https://www.accesscorrections.com or through the kiosk in the jail lobby. Requests for payment through any other method are a scam. The Grafton County Department of Corrections does not ask for digital payments over the phone as a condition of electronic monitoring or release.
Anyone who receives a suspicious call should not provide payment, banking information, Social Security number, passwords or other personal information. We recommend ending the call and independently contacting GCDOC at (603) 787-2019 or local law enforcement using an official phone number rather than a number supplied by the caller.
